Here are a few things I thought you might like to know:
The Committee has purchased advertising to run in the Columbia Weekly paper, starting the week of Thanksgiving (sales week) and running through our Bazaar. The reach is about 38,000 circulation.
We will be starting an intense advertisement campaign on Facebook. The Campaign will begin its run this Friday, Nov 19th and run through the Bazaar. From what the ad page states, we will hit an average 3,400 facebook users daily in a 35 mile radius of our address. I think that is some great numbers. Social media seems to be the way to reach a target.
Instagram and twitter accounts are up and running highlighting all our vendors currently. Press releases are being distributed to the local TV/Radio and Local papers to be added to their events calendar. Our Publicity Chair is working on a story in the Fort Meade local Newspaper the ‘Sound Off’, but do not have confirmation to date. Along with all of the above, we will begin to listed in the event section, we have our information on the Ft. Meade Web site, the electronic billboards and we are sending out a direct mail piece on Nov. 30th that will reach every postal customer on Ft. Meade.

As for the Bazaar itself~
The Holiday Decorations are being provided by Tberries and Florals. Our local florist shop in the PX. We are so glad to have them support our event this year.
Santa will be arriving @noon with his elves by Fire Truck. We will have several Ft. Meade military VIP’s welcoming Santa. We are still confirming the choir, but are hopeful to have holiday carols and hot chocolate greeting Santa.
We have confirmed 110 vendors for our event! WE are very worried about the set up on Friday, so I am asking for everyone’s help and patience. Set up will begin at 6:30pm. However, your set up crew will not be able to begin the layout until 3:30. Please be patient with us, we will be trying to get everything done!
The Retired Officer Wives Club along with the OSC will be offering all vendors a coupon for the sweet shop. This coupon will be in your welcome packet. So if the day get’s long, you can run by the sweet shop for a cookie or piece of cake. There will be a hospitality area for vendors, with water, coffee and tea.
There will be five food vendors on site. Their sales from food will directly impact their fundraising efforts for their associated family readiness groups. For our non-military attendees, the family readiness group supports all the soldiers families; during deployments and or actual daily activities.
We are asking for a $2.00 donation for our event, which goes directly to our Scholarship program. However, if a donation is made to our Toys for Tots drive, the admission donation is waived.
PLEASE REMEMBER, YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO ENTER FORT MEADE MILITARY POST TO ACCESS THE SCHOOL. The entrance to Meade Middle is off of 175 and Disney Rd/ 26th street. If you go to the Security gates on Meade, you will be turned away.
